The
Drebes Family
We are amazed at the response
of Davisville and our friends and family toward the support
of the Cambodia team. Not sure why we should be so shocked
when God's purpose for the world is to make His name famous
everywhere. He is blessing our team so that we can be a
blessing to the ends of the earth which will in return bring
Him
great glory as more and more learn to worship the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit in Cambodia. So why should we be
surprised that He has moved so many hearts to join with us?
Because, even though people look up to missionaries, we are
still sinners, relying on God daily and constantly failing
Him. It is He who will accomplish His work through the
Cambodia team, unbelieving and unfaithful as we might be.
We see Him blessing our
precious time left with our family right now. There are
amazing praises that led to all three children being home
right now with us when there were years that we only had one
or sometimes 2 here because of colleges, apartments with
friends, etc. We treasure every moment left with them. We
realize that this is a blessing in itself, because when you
don't know you could possibly be separated from your family
someday, you may not have the opportunity to soak up every
moment with them. Many have asked us how it will be leaving
them and possibly be separated from grandchildren in the
future. But we see our time spent home on furloughs to
be precious times like these last days with them. We even
hope to move in with them (still not sure of their complete
compliance to that request!) and live with our
(hopeful) grandchildren for a few months on furloughs.....a
hope not many grandparents have.
God promises in Scripture that
even though we leave, "home or brothers or sisters or mother
or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will
fail to receive a hundred times as much in the present
age...and in the age to come..." (Mark 10:29-31) We already
have two single daughters, 4 brothers and sisters (they're a
little old to be married children) and 6 grandchildren going
to the field with us. So, you see, God blesses in ways we
can't even fathom. His ways are not ours. The fears and
questions we have are quieted in our spirits by Our Lord and
His Word.
We praise God for Davisville's
commitment to the Cambodia Team.
Finally, brothers, pray for us
that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be
honored...
